For 23 years, The Conservation Fund has been a leader in working with its partners to protect the best of America’s wild havens, working lands and vibrant communities. In 2007, we achieved a significant milestone – 6 million acres conserved. From the Gates of the Arctic National Park to the Gray Reef reach on the North Platte to the Glatfelter Forests straddling the Delaware and Chesapeake bays, we have protected the landscapes that have shaped us as a people and defined us as a nation.
With the support and dedication of our board and staff, we have pursued a bold vision as the nation’s most efficient and effective conservation organization. For the seventh consecutive year, the American Institute of Philanthropy gave The Conservation Fund its top “A+” ranking, and Charity Navigator again gave the Fund its exceptional “four-star” rating. Our 1% fundraising costs are the lowest in our field, and our 97% allocation of donated funds to conservation programs is the highest.
And yet, we must do more—accelerating the pace of land conservation, integrating economic and environmental goals, and making sure that our vision is a vision for all America, that our goals are goals that benefit all Americans. Our success will determine the health of our nation’s natural legacy and the children who will inherit it. Please join us.
Sincerely,
Larry Selzer
